Marina Alta (high coastal area), is precisely the name given to the
Alicante wine which enjoys well deserved fame at this present time.
It is a white wine manufactured with a variety of the well-known grapes
such as Moscatel Romano and in its recent history has won different
international prizes. Equally produce with a grape from Teulada is a
sweet Moscatel which has the name of Mistela, which can be bought in
the same bodega in the area.
At the moment the Cooperative has facilities for the transformation
of grape into wines and mistelas, as well as depots for the elaboration
and storage of these products. Also a part of the elaborated products
are packaged in this Cooperative. The wines from the cooperative
are:
Mistela of Teulada
Excellent muscatel-licour wine, made with the Ajendria muscatel-grape
variety, holder of several international prizes.
Wine Marina Alta:
extraordinary 11º white wine also elaborated with the same muscatel
grape, in an appropriate maturation degree and produced at low temperatures.
Its excellent qualities have deserved diverse international prizes.
Handmade vermut:
Manufactured also with the base of the muscatel grape of Teulada, it
is a product of great acceptance in appetizers.
Other wines:
Likewise other wines for bulk consumption are produced, from different
grape varieties: muscatel, grenache, merseguera, etc. Spirit Marina
Alta,comercialized by BOCOPA, is made from the bagasse of this Cooperative's
muscatel grape.
